A fitness trainer in Dubai shared a list of exercises that you can do while sitting down or have little time to spare at work:
- Go for a walk
When you feel that work is dragging you down, fitness experts say that take your mind off things and go for a short walk in your office premises. Walking can help increase your blood circulation and also practice your bones and muscles from moving. It can also help improve your brain activity. Sitting down too long can have a negative effect on your body. It can cause muscle atrophy and also decrease the level of oxygen circulating the body. Walking is a simple exercise that you can do while you are at the office. No equipment needed.
- Bun clenches
If you are dead serious about achieving hour-glass figure, you can try doing some clenches while you are sitting down. The way to do this is you have to clench your buttocks and hold it for 10 seconds. Do it on interval. The good thing about this exercise is that you can do this without anyone noticing.
- Rotate your ankles
When you are sitting down for a great deal of time, your ankles may feel weak and frail. Be sure to rotate them once in a while. Rotate your ankles every five seconds in both directions. This can make your ankles more flexible and can prevent the possibility of suffering from sprains.
- Stretch your arms
Typing for a great deal of hours can cause a negative effect on your calf muscles. Try to do some arm stretches even while you are seated on your desk. There are a lot of ways to do this. For one, you can lift your arms as if you are reaching something. You can also rotate your arms and hands to keep the blood circulating and exercise the joints.
- Lift your legs
Another bad side of sitting down too long is that it can make your leg muscles weak, making walking difficult and tiring. Be sure to keep them active by stretching them or doing some leg lifts.
